I've recently purchased the GL-3000NR and am experiencing issues connecting it to Vodafone Australia through the NVMO Felix. Despite several troubleshooting steps, I keep getting the "SIM could not be registered" error.
Here’s what I’ve tried so far:
Repairing the IMEI and ensured the IMEI is correctly configured and corresponds with a compatible device.
Updated the router firmware to the latest version to ensure compatibility with the network.
The router recognises the phone number and ICCID, as seen in the attached screenshot, but it fails to connect. I've attempted both manual and automatic setup with the APN set to live.vodafone.com.
I’ve also explored the network profiles using AT commands, but the profiles listed don’t explicitly support Vodafone AU.
Has anyone else encountered this issue or have any further suggestions on what I could try?
I assume that you've also changed your TTL (and HL) to 65 (and also given 64 a try).
Anyway - this is a bit of a longshot, but this worked for me when I was having issues here in Canada: try turning off Network Accelleration ( under Network > Network Accelleration ), rebooting, and connecting again.
I tried setting the TTL to 65, but unfortunately, it didn’t resolve the issue. However, I did make some progress thanks to your advice—when disabling Network Registration, I can now see information about the cell tower. Despite this, I’m still getting the same error: "SIM Card not Registered."
Assuming you have the device (phone) that you've cloned the IMEI from, put the SIM back in, go into settings and get the APN - make sure to use that APN on your router. Also, make sure that the phone is powered off when the router is powered on.
Here's my best advice:
Network Accelleration off
TTL and HL at 65 (also try 64)
MTU at 1410 (also try 1420 and 1400)
Also, you may have triggered something at the tower by making too many changes too quickly. Try unplugging the router for a half hour or so.
Finally, your RSRP is very low - the tower may be having trouble hearing you. If you can, try to relocate the modem closer to a window.
