Issues with the Gl-XE300-022 Puli

The picture shows your actual connection speed … then how did you get 15-50 mbps?!

The command I gave you to test your speed from the command line on xe. It has NOTHING to do with fast.com!

There appears to be a barrier to our ability to communicate satisfactorily. From my understanding you wanted me to do the following:

PC speed test

  • restore my PC to factory network settings
  • directly connect the reset PC to the Mifi 8800l
  • run a seed test using fast.com with my VPN disabled.

XE initiated speed test

My 20-50Mbps hack

  • in Windows 11 PC run command prompt as administrator
  • type: netsh int ipv4 set glob defaultcurhoplimit=65
  • press enter
  • type: netsh int ipv6 set glob defaultcurhoplimit=65
  • press enter
  • reset PC
  • connect directly to Mifi 8800l using WiFi connection
  • install NordVPN and set to automatic quick connection
  • go-to: speed.cloudflare com
  • speeds will read between 20-50Mbps

Other random tests I performed

PC → XE → Mifi

  • NordVPN installed on XE (5Mbps)
  • ipv4 and ipv6 limit set to all combinations of 67,66, 65,64,63 (5Mbps or less)
  • ipv4 and ipv6 limit set to 88 (10 Mbps)

PC → SIM installed on XE

  • all tests from PC → XE → Mifi run again in new configuration
  • results were almost identical.

pc → Mifi using modified settings and no VPN

  • (5 Mbps or less)

** With all due respect what is it that you are communicating that I do not understand? **

DO NOT use fast.com when testing speeds over cellular. Many cellular providers throttle streaming and fast.com is considered streaming by the cellular providers.

I am using 5G connection and this website always gives the most accurate result !

I agree! I can’t even access fast.com with my VPN running and that makes me not trust it.

Best way to test, in my opinion, is by using these apps:

Not only iOS / Android but CLI and Windows.

Note that I said “many” providers. It appears yours does not throttle. The safe bet is to not use fast.com if one is unsure if their provider throttles streaming. They may be fighting speed issues that aren’t really issues but just their provider throttling streaming.
