Issues With WireGuard VPN

Hello im a newbie to this whole VPN tech. I recently set up a vpn using this popular video on YouTube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LXbDg1v65Qs Everything was fine for about a month. Until yesterday my network speeds collapsed to

The problem im having is the latency ping being too high. My work from home program requires a low ping and a minimum download and upload speeds of 15mbps. These are the settings i had originally which seemed to work for a month.

DNS = 64.6.64.6
MTU = 1420

Any ideas how I can make this start to work again?

Do speedtests on both routers without VPN and try to find the bottleneck. That's all you can do so far.

It is possible that the problem is with the VPN server you are connected to. Try making a new WireGuard configuration. Change the VPN server you are connecting to.

You can describe these things:

  • router model
  • router firmware
  • vpn server or vpn client
  • vpn service provider, your own vpn or commercial

It seems that you are using the router as vpn server. No idea what is the vpn client.
