Jio 5G connectivity issues on Spitz AX (RM520NGLAAR01A07M4G)

I’m using a GL.iNet Spitz AX (GL-X3000) with a Reliance Jio SIM in India. The connection needs to stay on 5G for usable speeds, since Jio’s 4G data gets throttled very quickly after a small quota.

Here’s what I’ve tried so far:

  • Updated to the latest firmware.

  • Set APN manually to JioNet.

  • Tried both 5G SA and NSA modes.

  • Used band masking to limit to N78 only (fails to register).

  • Also tried allowing LTE + N78 (connects but speed drops or 5G drops intermittently).

  • Tested tower locking (causes “SIM not registered” or “no service”).

  • Rebooted multiple times :sweat_smile:

Despite all this, the router often connects briefly to 5G and then falls back to LTE (exhausting my day quota) or drops internet completely. Sometimes the modem shows SIM not registered.

Has anyone managed to get stable 5G-only Jio connectivity on this model or similar hardware? Any reliable band or network settings that work in this setup?

Please make sure the 5G NR antennas are all connected properly to the router. Run the following AT command and share the command response with us:
