Just want to play my Playstation Portal

So, I got a Playstation portal. This NAT Type situation is a buzz kill. I got a GLiNet Shadow Mini Router. I got to the advanced settings where you can add a NAT rule. Does anyone know what to do to change it to NAT Type 2? Or any suggestions to help me become a happy gamer again? lol

Best advise i can give is port forwarding.

can you show a topology from draw.io?

Portforward these:

If you want to be invisible for port scanners setup a wireguard server and portforward from this zone instead of wan, then use a travel router to use as wireguard client.

Also very important, if you use vpn client here you may want to split route all playstation domains to go over wan, sony sometimes blocks vpn connections which brings you to a wrong assumption the portforward doesn't work.

You will keep the NAT situation, you could simplify the situation with vlan encapisulation but you still get a NAT detection, NAT is not that bad, this is what firewalls are intended to, they talk from one direction and the other side is allowed to respond back on the same line, if they are the first initiator of a source packet it gets blocked, i don't recommend directly portforward on wan from the primary router since tcp ports are involved, this makes you open for port scanners, if you use wireguard then those ports are closed and wireguard does not respond.

Try enabling UPNP. This will automatically open the ports you need based on different games.

^ adjust the IPs / ports for what you need.

Let me add some clarity and context to what I’m looking to do. I work a lot on the road and in my car a lot. With this shadow mini router, I would like to configure it where I can take it with me and tether it to any hotspot or my own 5G device. I would like to connect directly to my router with my PlayStation portal.

Hey j2zero! Just wanna let you know I got action baby! Thanks for your help!
