After cloning my phone’s MAC address to my travel router - the GL.iNet GL-SFT1200 (Opal) - I lose all internet connectivity (via any of my clients, 2.4 GHz or 5 GHz). Is there an issue with my travel router or is there another configuration I need to make somewhere? Thanks!
By what means are you connected to the Internet? Ethernet or Repeater?
Can you provide logs?
I’m connecting to the internet via “Repeater” and then connecting to the my working home WiFi router. After cloning my iPhone’s MAC Address, I can no longer access the internet via my travel router’s WiFi my Windows 11 laptop. I’m not using the private randomized MAC Address functionality on the iPhone so it’s using my phone’s device MAC address.
When cloning my Windows 11 laptop’s MAC Address, I actually have no issue accessing the travel router’s internet via either the 2.4 or 5 GHz clients. The issue seems to only be when I clone my phone’s device mac address.
You can try turning off Wi-Fi or enabling private randomized MAC Address on your phone. And try again.
When using MAC clone, repeater may have a MAC conflict. This depends on the hotspot and the client device.
