Macbook no longer connects

I have been using an Opal model connected to an ISP hotspot to which I am a paid subscriber. I have had no issues for the most part and have a home network running with streaming, airplay, etc.

Suddenly one of my devices, a 2017 Macbook Pro, no longer connects to the Opal. I have performed a factory reset of the Opal and the same condition persists. All devices besides the Macbook function normally, but the Macbook always times out when trying to connect.

I am considering performing a factory reset of the Macbook next but I was wondering if anybody else had any insight into this issue.

Thanks for your help.

Please share your Wi-Fi settings.

I had similar problem with mac book, so I did manual IP address to connect WiFi.

  • Which router (which model?) are you using? Opal

  • Which firmware version is in use? 3.212

  • How is your router connected to the Internet?

    • Via WLAN - capture authenticate, xfinity wireless
  • Which DNS server do you use? local ISP / not sure

  • Do you use DHCP or static IP addresses? static

That one problem. Need double check reservation IP addresses in router and double check mac book correct things
