I have just purchased and installed a GL-MT200N-v2 mini router. I can connect, but the connection continually drops. It drops approximately 10-15 seconds after connecting. It stays dropped and tries to reconnect for about the same amount of time. After re-connecting, it then repeats the process.
This mini router is being used to wirelessly connect my laptop to a mini computer in areas with no internet connection. I have my mini computer plugged in via ethernet cable to the LAN port.
Hi,
-
Does the connection problem of MT300Nv2 mean that the repeater is disconnected?
-
Let's clarify the topology again, is it right?

This is all fairly new to me, but I'll try to explain. Nothing is connected to the internet. I am trying to control my mini computer using my laptop and RDP. The Mango is connected directly to the mini computer via an ethernet cable. I connect my laptop wirelessly to the Mango and log into my mini computer. I can perform a few tasks using the laptop through RDP accessing software on the mini computer. Then the software freezes for about 10 seconds and then I get the message that the connection is lost. After about 5 seconds, it reconnects. I perform a few more tasks and the process repeats
I bought a GL-AR300M-16 last year for a different mini computer using the same configuration, and it worked right away so I'm unfamiliar with the mini router's setup process. Making things difficult is the fact that I don't have any internet connected (I'm guessing to the WAN port on the Mango). Also, when I'm connected to the Mango with the laptop, I lose my wireless internet connection for the laptop.
My next step was going to be to add in a wired connection from my home router to the laptop so that Ican access the internet while still being connected to the Mango. I might also need to connect the Mango to my home router via the WAN port. I still, however need to understand the setup process better.
Picked up a GL-AR300M (with the antenna), and it works perfectly for my application.
I will save the Mango for something else.
