Mango iPhone HotSpot WAN

Hi All,

My carrier has moved to ipv6 and i am now unable to use my mango 300n v2. Is it possible for the mango to support this setup.

iPhone hotspot (ipv6 from carrier) -> mango -> wifi and lan to other devices sharing internet on ipv4 so for example ps5 and tv works.

I have tried openwrt, luci etc and cannot seem to get it to work.

Also have attempted nat64 via ssh but it doesnt seem to start correctly, i guess its not built for this architecture. And Jool isnt available on the okpg store for this device.

Now i have factory reset back to mango firmware and trying to do via repeater mode, tried with both ipv6 option on and off.

Connects fine to my home router (fritzbox), but on iPhone it is stuck on connecting, shows the SSID but no ip address etc.

Since turning on ipv6, i think it has only applied to lan side (as now that side has both ipv4 and ipv6 addresses), but i guess not on the iPhone wan side.

So from my investigation so far I am thinking this is not working due to that lack of ipv6 to ipv4 translation. Furthermore NAT64 is not functional due to restrictions to "ip" command line calls in both mango firmware and openwrt firmware for mango (not allowing ip assignments etc due to kernal restrictions).

From further reading I am currently on the path of building a custom firmware image to patch the kernal restrictions. Can anyone confirm if they have had any luck with something like this on a mango (i.e. removing kernal level restrictions)?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Kind Regards,

James

I had a similar problem.
I just change the APN on my phone to use only IPv4, and them the hotspot started using IPv4 again.

I am talking to the carrier, waiting for a response, however I have a feeling they only offer ipv6 now
