Modem 4G not detected

Hello,

I bought a modem 4G “ZTE MF79U” but is not detected on my router GL-MT3000.

it shows these message in cellular: “No Modem device found. Plug in your USB modem to start.”

but it’s detected as usb Tethering, which it add double NAT!

could you please help to solve this issue?

Thanks!

Hi,What is the firmware version of MT3000?

Current Firmware

  • Version: 4.2.2
  • Firmware Type: release 2

Openwrt Version: OpenWrt 21.02-SNAPSHOT r15812+879-46b6ee7ffc

tethering or modem mode depends on the modem’s Settings, you can ask the modem vendor if there is a way to switch.

there is no option on modem setting.

here the modem that I use: https://amzn.eu/d/0djHgdY

there is any way to achieve that from the router setting?
what are the 4G modem dongle supported in MT3000?

In this case, you can only use it as tethering device.
