Modem of XE300 (Puli) not available, but online

Hey, I recently bought an XE300 (Puli). I added an LTE connection via a new Profile and upgraded the router to the latest firmware. The router boots up and then goes online with the LTE modem. The connection is shared. Both Wifi and 4G work. However, the admin interface shows the modem as unavailable.

System log shows
"Tue May 6 12:17:01 2025 daemon.err modem_AT: (modem_AT.c:319) The /dev/ttyUSB3 does not open, continue to try."

I attached Screenshots and logs. As you will see, the cellular connection is active, but cannot be configured via the admin interface.

Hi,

Could you please try resetting the firmware to try one more?

Seems ttyUSB3 port it occupied by some process.

I have the same issue after resetting the firmware and with the current latest firmware, which is 4.0 0327release2.

I did reset the firmware as Bruce suggested and the problem persisted. I did then reset it again. And then it worked. My Puli just takes time from boot until it actually activates the cellular modem.

Thank you. So, I should reset again?

Hi,

  1. Please check the modem status and SIM status using following AT commands in Admin Panel > Internet > Modem > ··· > Modem AT command:
AT+CFUN?
AT+CSQ
AT+COPS?
  1. Please export modem-debug info from Admin Panel > Internet > Modem > ··· > Modem AT command:

I have got a very new SIM card from Hungarian Telekom. The Puli is always on 220V with its factory adapter and usb-c cable.
