MT1300 (Beryl) now has 4.x firmware in beta (4.1.0 beta 3 is out)

Is it safe to update to version 4? Or will my radio burn too

Pls update and let me know. If it burns I can exchange for you.

Bug Report
No scroll bar in GL.iNet Admin Panel need to use arrow keys
Sd card will not mount and is never shown. (I did upgrade with a working card installed and visible)
Like the overview page in UI but the readings only start when on the page not a rolling output, should show the past 5mins of information

Has been up 3 days in repeater mode, very little issues

UI issues look like browser cache is not cleared. Did you clear the browser cache after upgrading?

Can confirm the behavior with the sd card. Nothing shown when inserted.

You’re the man. :+1: I’ll update right now.

Sd card issue also confirmed from my side

Just wanted to say I’ve had exceptional service from GL.iNet on my non-working Beryl. They’ve replaced the unit and everything is wonderful again.

Really tremendous - huge shout out to the entire GL.iNet team on being so responsive. Thank you all!

So are we seeing better or worse performance with the open source wireless driver?

I also need feedback from everyone.

Silly question but how do I apply this firmware. I downloaded the linked tar and uploaded in the web gui but I received this error:

failed! ERROR: Incorrect firmware format!

Do I need to do this with SSH? I’m used to doing a sysupgrade with OpenWRT if needed.

Ok, forget it I asked. LOL I just had to extract the bin file.

OK, I think I might need to apply the firmware again because I’m getting an error in the webui:

Unknown error occurred. Please check the network environment or reboot the device.

and I’m seeing a lot of this in the logs:

I still miss the 5Ghz networks, but in general it is running stable.

Well I seem to have really bricked my router. I can’t even get the uboot method to work. Nothing comes up and I can’t connect to the uboot UI.

Is there a tftp method I can try? No idea what happened, I tried to upload the bin file again and the router never came back up.

Just verifying that you are using the correct IP addresses with uboot… Remember that it’s 192.168.1.2 for your computer and 192.168.1.1 for the router…

Also, the correct light sequence before letting up on the button ( For GL-MT1300(Beryl), the LED is blue at first, flash twice slowly, then light 5 times a bit quick and turn to white and stay on.)

I’ve messed that up several times and it took me a while to realize the issue!

Yeah, that’s the IP I was using but I didn’t get that exact light pattern.

It seems to flash three times slowly (blue) and then goes solid white.

In uboot, try different portal, or just try using another pc.

Good point.

I remember a while go on a router I had to use windows because linux could not access the uboot (until an update).
