MT1300 WiFi issues

I have an MT1300 and had lots of WiFi drop outs about 4 months ago. I downloaded and installed the new firmware in beta edition 3.211, and things seemed better for a period of time. Now again, with my Windows 10 computers, and my Android tablet, they both drop off WiFi all the time. They do not have this issue with other routers. Here is some of the log. It is very frustrating and will likely make me purchase a new router as this version is not working well for almost a year now…

Can I ask, did you set up repeater and the repeater keep disconnecting? Then it affected your AP?

I have set up a repeater, but that wifi network is no longer available. Is that the issue? How do I remove all the repeater config so it stops trying to connect to a wifi network that is no longer available? The router is using my phone tethering for internet now.

Yes you can find the saved SSIDs and remove them.

Thank you. Removing the old WiFi networks seems to have resolved the issue as best I can tell. Thanks again.

I had this issue as well. I am connected to WAN by Cable, and the wireless interface continually resets every few minutes. I spent quite a time seeing if there was radio network interference etc. Then I looked at the Beryl log in Luci and found multiple “Beacon lost - AP disabled!!” messages. Turns out the above mentioned fix also worked for me - remove all of the old Saved Networks from the Wireless Repeater connection method. Looks like the router, even though it has a perfectly good Cable connection, is in the background going through the old saved wireless networks trying to connect, and when none of them are present it is resetting the internal wireless interface. From a user’s perspective that feels counterintuitive, perhaps even a bug. Is that behaviour changed in the new 4.x betas?

You mean MT1300, right? 4.x used open source wifi drivers and supposed to behave differently.

Thank you. Yes it’s a MT1300 Beryl, so that’s great news re the altered behaviour in the new code

Removing the wifi networks didn’t work for me. But, ironically, turning off the “Failover” feature/switching to Load Balance in Multi-WAN improved the up-time for me, from losing connection every 10 mins or less to now almost 2 hours since last disconnect. It doesnt seem to be a wifi issue for my case, my laptop is connected to the Beryl through a cable.

it looks like the problem is related to power. Once i switched to a 5V/3A power adapter, the router has been up (more than 3 hours, longest up time i have ever seen with the current arrangement). I hope i am not declaring the problem solved prematurely. but it is looking positive so far.
