MT300 won't repeat internet any more... Why?

I try to be calm. And i am using it since 3 weeks now. I thought that my wifi problems will be gone after purchasing the MT300-V2. But it just gets worse. Random sudden problems. Switching from one to another wifi is risky. Now i am stuck after i switched from one AP to another. I have two APs. Normally i switch between these two (if i dare). Now it’s stuck as you see in the screenshot.

Using OpenVPN barely works too… but that’s another topic.

MT300 won’t connect to the internet through one of my APs. But when i connect my PC directly to the wifi AP. No problem. Internet is there.

Tell me what to do! I am willing to work on it. Even my frustration level is high already.

I just made a 3-seconds-reset. But still can’t connect. Here the syslog:

It wasn’t working for 30 minutes. And now it does connect again. Still. Why does that happen?

Looks like you’ve got a weak wireless signal - how far away are you?
if it’s your own AP, as you call it, try switching wireless channels.

All APs are in the same room together with the MT300.
My AP has now channel 10.

Now i have big speed problems. When i connect to the MT300. I only get 0.1Mbit… That’s close to 0.
But when i copnnect my PC directly to the AP. I get 8 Mbit.

There is plenty problems like that. I am afraid touching it because it will brake something :frowning:

Sorry about the speed problems. The MT300 connected automatically to the other (slow) AP… so now it works again.
I will text again if problems come up.

Hopefully the change of channel did the trick

Thanks for your help

I knew it wouldn’t take long…
So here we are again. Can’t connect to internet any more. This time it’s the other one of my APs which is using channel 4.

So what now?? Tell me what to do!
I spend hours unplugging, changing, resetting… It became a pain in the ass…

Am i doing something wrong or are Glinet routers some unreliably piece of hardware?

Glinet2
That is what is see forever. And when i connect to the AP with my PC directly. I have totally normal internet. But Glinet can’t connect to it.

And after writing this forum post. It strangely works again…
WTH… It is time and nerve consuming.

Where can i debug the problem??? Why is it stuck with “Connecting to the internet” so many times???
Please help!!

You are doing something wrong.
Why do you need to connect to 2 AP’s? Pick the strongest signal (nearest, probably) and use that.

Upgrade to V3 firmware available here (in testing directory):
http://download.gl-inet.com.s3-website.us-east-2.amazonaws.com/firmware/

Okay… Sooo

After the Update the new Webpanel (wich i really like) showed success after i connected to one of my APs. So i thought perfect. But i didn’t get internet from my PC…
After some testing i found out that i had to reset my network adapter in windows. Now it works.

And hopefully without the trouble i had before.

Another strange thing which is nothing serious:
When i click on Disconnect. It ask me if i really want to disconnect. I click on Yes and then i get this error:

I downloaded the V3 under the testing directory. However, after it rebooted, there is no webpanel, just the OpenWRT login screen. How do I get the webpanel up?

Hmm. Strange. Worked flawless on my side.
For MT300N-V2 You did use this one right?
http://download.gl-inet.com.s3-website.us-east-2.amazonaws.com/firmware/mt300n-v2/testing/

May it is because mine was not V2 but the MT300N. Will get an AR-300M and play with.

You can try v3.0 firmware, but please don’t ticked “keep settings” when upgrading.

For MT300N, http://download.gl-inet.com/firmware/mt300n/testing/
For AR300M, http://download.gl-inet.com/firmware/ar300m/nand/testing/

Don’t use the clean firmware which is really meaning CLEAN. So it only has luci.

If you used a clean firmware, the browser may cache the index.html and you will be redirect to luci every time.

So just clean your browser cache or use another browser solves the issue.

OK, thanks, will give that a try.

@alzhao and @kyson-lok. Thanks for the help, after clear my browser’s cache, I am able to get to the web interface. Then the other question, with V3, under plug-ins, am not able to find Shadowsocks. Do you know where I can find Shadowsocks? Both client and server?

Docs are your friends

@alzhao, thanks, my bad. I did that before, but did not realize there were multiple pages until I saw the doc. I have successfully installed ss. In the past there were other apps such as ChinaDNS, Redsock5 etc. to prevent DNS hijacking or poisoning, now I cannot find these apps anymore. I want to use this solution for the GFW when I travel to China, can you point me to the right direction?

You should enable DSN over TLS, which is available in MORE SETTINGS → Custom DNS → Clouflare.
