MT3000 crashes/reboots when trying to copy large files to attached USB stick

Hi everyone

The title says it all really. I bought a Beryl AX MT3000 and to have some simple network storage I also bought a 256gb USB stick.

It is formatted as exFat (which gave problems in and of itself in Mac OS) and configured correctly in Samba.

When I copy smaller files like pdf or images, there is no problem. When I copy a movie or anything close to 1GB, the copying stops halfway and the router reboots.

I have no idea what the issue could be but it is very frustrating. It happens on both my Windows machien as well as on my Macbook.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

regards

Hi,
Please try to format the U-Disk to ext4. As you know the exfat is not very compatible with MacOS, so do not use the exfat with Samba in MacOS.

Have there been any updates to this issue? I am facing the same problem with the router crashing and rebooting when trying to copy a ~600 mb file via samba. I have reformatted the external SSD as NTFS as the issue still occurs.

Thanks,

Hi,

What is the router model and firmware version?
I would like to reproduce it to check.
