Hi
I am on holiday, and using my Beryl MT3000 in a hotel. I am really struggling to get this device to connect to the hotel wifi in repeater mode - Sometime it does, sometimes not.
I would understand if the hotel have blacklisted this device, but have MAC randomisation turned on.
ALL my other devices have no problem with the hotel wifi.
Is there a list of know 'Hotel Routers' that the MT3000 doesnt like?
Is this a known problem?
Can try and provide logs if someone can point me to a specific area.
May I know does the hotel Wi-Fi require the portal login?
May I know if the router connected to the others 5GHz Wi-Fi via the repeater?
Please can try connecting the hotel 5GHz Wi-Fi on the MT3000, and share its syslog with us.
If possible, check the hotel 5GHz Wi-Fi channel, bandwidth, mode (ax, ac, n?), security (WPA3, 2?)
Hi Bruce
We are back home now, but from memory, I can confirm:
No Signon Portal - Just password
I tried 5G Connection, and this never worked. I only had a moderately reliable conmnection with 2.4
To add further detail, the Hotel WiFi access point was just outside the door, so I doubt this was a low signal strength issue.
I have in the past, connected my MT3000 to my MT6000 at home via 5G. That worked.
I didn't obtain any immediate syslogs or take any further analytic reporting unfortunately. The logs may still persist on the device, not sure (are they deleted everytime its powercycled?)
The syslog will be refresh (delete) when the router power cycle.
Anyway if the router occurs any issue next time, please export the syslog first and let us know.
Is this distinctly different to your normal UX? I must admit, I quite like what you have done as its simple and easy to use.
If I try this, is there a backwards route if I dont like it?
