MT3000, VPN and Captive portal

I have an MT3000 running 4.6.4. I use it primarily to connect my multiple devices to wifi on long flights. I also like to use a VPN for peace-of-mind.

The wifi on the plane uses a captive portal page. When I go to connect, I have to go disable the VPN connection to allow me to reach the portal page, then RE-connect the VPN.

Is there any way to set the default startup to have VPN connections disconnected? Better still would be if I could set it up to automatically connect the VPN when internet access is connected.

BTW, MT3000 op24 firmware works better as repeater.
