MT300N-V2 - Cant connect to one specific wifi

Hello, i bought the MT300N-V2 to have my own subnetwork inside my dorms free wifi. The free dorm wifi is protected by a captive portal and i already have disabled the DNS protection setting that should allow my subnet devices to log into the captive portal.

The real issue is actually connecting to the wifi itself. The travel router finds the host AP and i can connect to it but after a “success” message, nothing changed. it seems like it didnt connect at all.
I tried to connect to one of my other routers without internet access just to be sure and it worked on them but not the dorm wifi.

i loged into luci to get the logs but they dont give much information (to me atleast) either.

All of my other devices can actually connect to the wifi and my phone (Honor 8X android 10) even has an option to bridge the incoming wifi into a new network created by my phone (and that works aswell!).

Any ideas what settings i could change to the router to make it connect to the wifi?

Best regards

Can you connect your phone to the dorm wifi and then make a mac clone?

Seems the dorm wifi reject the router for some reasn.

I tried and that didnt work either. I think this wifi checks for broadcast packages a router sends when establishing a connection and then kicks the device from the network. i think it might be connected to this
