MT300N V2 Mango with NordVPN keeps disconnetting

Hello everybody, I recently bought a MT300N and tried to setup it with NordVPN in my home network.

I have a router provided by the ISP to which I connect the MT300N.

The fact is that it works for minutes and then I am disconnected from Internet, continuously. Searching online I tried to do the following things:

  • Switched from WiFi repeater to connected directly by cable
  • Changed the charger with a more powerful one (it’s not a problem of low power)
  • Disable network scanning and failover

But nothing changed. Internet keeps disconnecting.

The CPU average load is around 50-60%, memory usage is at 50%. The firmware is up to date (4.3.28)

What can I do to fix the issue?

Hi,

From your description, the Mango is connected behind your ISP router by Ethernet and disconnects after running for a few minutes. We need to confirm whether the WAN connection is dropping or whether the VPN tunnel is reconnecting.

Please check the following when the issue happens:

  1. If NordVPN is disabled on the Mango, does the Internet connection still disconnect frequently?
  2. What is the NordVPN status in VPN -> VPN Dashboard when the Internet drops? Is it still connected, reconnecting, or disconnected?

When the issue happens again, could you please export the router log from System -> Log -> Export Log and send it to us via private message? So we can check the VPN and network events around that time.

Actually I am connecting through another PC where a corporate VPN is also on. I saw that if the VPN on the router is off the connection is more stable, but if I enable it and both VPNs are running the connection became unstable again.

I was able to get a better connection changing the MTU to 1280, but Internet drops every 4 or 5 minutes.

Checking the log of the VPN I don’t see particular messages when Internet drops.

Now I have setup the same configuration on a Cudy TR3000 router and till now I am not experiencing issues
