MT6000 4.8.4 Wifi Channel Bug

I have just updated to the main line 4.8.4 firmware on my MT6000 I still have an issue where if I select any channel on my 5G wifi connection, my phone wont connect to the wifi.

On auto it works fine.

Just noticed now that when I set the channel to 140, it wont connect, but if I leave it for a few mins, it then will connect. Then went I switch off the wifi on my phone and then switch it back on again, it then connects. But if I switch my wifi on my phone off for a few minutes, then switch it on again, it will then struggle to connect to my wifi but then eventually does connect.

Has anyone else noticed this with the 5G wifi?

Are you using 160mhz channels?

Channel 140 is a DFS channel.

DFS channels (like 140) are shared with radar systems (weather radar, air traffic control, etc.).

For most of the world, by law, Wi-Fi routers must scan a channel for radar signals before transmitting on it.

CAC (Channel Availability Check), can take 60 seconds or more before the router is allowed to start broadcasting on that channel.

Summary: Repeat tests with a non-DFS channel and see.

same here. Low signal on 5 ghz after update to 4.8.4, range also decreased significant cant get over 7 meters clearline on 5 ghz, downgrade to 4.8.3 and problem clear

I have upgraded mine to 4.8.4 but I done it via uboot so it’s a clean install. No issues here. Maybe give that a go.
