Hi everyone!
I have been trying to set up a separate SSID for my IOT-devices in LuCI following this guide: [OpenWrt Wiki] Guest Wi-Fi using LuCI.
Unfortunately, when I add a new SSID either to 2.4 or 5.0 radio, it shows error "Wireless is not associated". The SSID also does not appear in the list of wifi networks.
The default 5G-Guest SSID works without any issues. I tried recreating a new wireless with the identical settings and the guest wireless but to no avail.
Device: MT-6000;
Firmware: OpenWrt 21.02-SNAPSHOT r15812+1076-46b6ee7ffc / LuCI openwrt-21.02 branch git-22.335.71649-0ecaf74
Thank you in advance!
Dear @Moneky18,
Could you please provide us with the relevant information, excluding any sensitive data, on whether one of your recently created SSIDs within LuCi is properly assigned to an interface of your choice with DHCP enabled and an appropriate private IP address configured?
Your voluntary cooperation in this matter is greatly appreciated.
Happy Monday
Dear @moonstruck ,
Following the guide above, I have created an empty bridge called br-iot.
Then, I created an interface called IOT and added the newly created bridge to it. The DHCP is enabled and the allocation range is 192.168.3.0/24.
The newly created wireless has the iot interface assigned to it:
If this is relevant, the range of my main network is 192.168.1.0/24. Could this be causing the issue?
Thanks and have a great Monday, too.
Dear @Moneky18,
While it is indeed fascinating to gain insight into your wireless setup through the provided screenshot, I would like to suggest that you review this instructional video by OneMarcFifty. His exceptionally educational content meticulously demonstrates the steps required to establish a segregated network, including WiFi.
I apologize for not directly addressing your last question, but I believe this guide may offer the comprehensive information you need to succeed.
Happy Monday

For anyone having the same problem, the default firmware was the issue. After installing stock OpenWRT 23.05.5, setting up the IOT WiFi following the aforementioned official guide worked flawlessly:
