Will this release, when it is available for the Mudi 7 GL-E5800 (EU) resolve this issue with cellular data statistics being severely unreported?
Hi
Since this issue is not closely related to the v4.9 firmware preview, we have split it into a separate thread for further handling.
Regarding this issue, could you please provide more details as following:
-
The difference between the current statistics and the actual usage
-
How you discovered or determined that the issue exists
-
Could you please follow the guide and share your device with us via GoodCloud so we can check it remotely?
Technical Support via GoodCloud - GL.iNet Router Docs 4Kindly send us the MAC address and the router password via private message so we can access the device.
I was first aware of the issue when the usage reported by the Mudi 7, GL-E5800 was less than 1GB yet my MVNO reported that I had used over 4GB. I am currently gathering further data, to confirm the exact level of inaccuracy. I have turned off Network Acceleration for these tests, however, without the unit being connected to the cellular service, the data usage reported on the display increased by 118MB overnight.
Later today I will post my test results.
Thank you for the clarification.
If you confirm that there is indeed an issue, please try to provide GoodCloud remote access if possible so we can investigate further.
See, below, at this point I am considering returning the unit for a refund!
Testing 8-May-26, all times are BST
1007 Recorrected data usage to 9923GB due to an additional 118MB being added overnight with no connection, the MVNO confirms no data usage overnight. Connected modem to cellular network.
1015 No connection to internet, although successfully connected to cellular network.
1020 Rebooted, reconnected, accessed BBC home page and down loaded 1 GB file to a USB tethered laptop and disconnected the cellular network
1025 Data used has not updated, still 9.69GB even if the page is refreshed, Historical Signal Record is regularly updating without refresh
1030 disconnected Mudi 7 from laptop, built in display shows 9.694GB used
1035 Built in display 9.694GB
1040 Built in display 9.694GB
1045 Built in display 9.694GB - Connected to power source on PD port, MVNO shows 0,079MB used (1000-1059)
1050 Built in display 9.694GB
1055 Built in display 9.694GB
1103 MVNO data updated to 278.456GB,display still 9.694GB
1110 Built in display 9.694GB
1115 Built in display 9.694GB
1120 Built in display 9.694GB
1130 Built in display 9.694GB
1135 Built in display 9.694GB
1205 Built in display 9.694GB, MVNO data usage now at 1073.782 MB
1207 Reconnected Mudi 7 to laptop using USB, data used on web interface still shows 9.69GB, Connecting to cellular hangs in "connecting"
1215 Connection failed x2, rebooted Mudi 7 from web interface. After reboot still unable to connect to cellular network, powered of Mudi 7, waited over 60s after display is no longer powered before powering back on.
After repeated attempts, including reboots and power off/onI am still unable to reconnect to the cellular service.
I am on Tmobile in US, the data usage is OVER reported, showing 14GB the day I opened it, I used it to test speeds. My average usage by Tmobile per month is ~23GB, so 14GB in a few hours cannot be right since I don’t watch videos, it purely for work while I am on the train commuting 2hrs/day, unless at the factory it was tested prior to shipment and not reset before I opened the box.
Hi
Do you currently connect to a 5G NSA network?
If so, we have previously been able to reproduce this issue locally and are already attempting to fix it.
However, to be cautious, could you also follow the guide below and share the device with us via GoodCloud?
This will allow us to confirm whether the root cause is the same.
Kindly note to send us the MAC address and the router password via private message so we can access it.
