Mudi 7 - disappointing speeds

Just received my Mudi 7.
The data speeds are noticeably less, than with my several years old Netgear MR6550.

Using a Calyx sim card, and the hotspot sitting on my desk - the netgear hotspot consistently sees speedtest. net speeds of about 293mbps down, and about 58mbps up.

The Mudi 7 - sitting in the same spot on my desk, and with the same Calyx sim card does noticeably different.
speedtest.net shows consistent download speeds of 240mbps down and 39 mbps up.

The Mudi 7 delivers perfectly useable data. But a newer device, with a newer modem chip ought to deliver better speeds. And certainly ought to be able to manage at least the same speeds.

I know, I know - I need to see of the two devices are locking to the same tower - and I have not yet done so.

Any suggestions on settings to change on the Mudi 7 to eek out a bit more speed?

Check bands and PCIs if all of these are identical with your Nergear.

Check how Carrier Aggregation is done via AT command. Eventually it is stuck to a single slow 5G SA / NR5G band and doesn´t start 5G NSA. (Mudi 7 prefers to stick to 5G SA band if available, no matter what speed it provides.)

You can then try to block the specific 5G SA band and retry. Should then enable 5G NSA.

Alternatively check with 4G only mode first in SIM Card settings => Network Type.
