Mudi GL-E750 USB-C Port Replicator

Hi everyone,

I received a new embedded device with an ethernet port. I tested this device with the Synology router, and it's connecting fine. I can see the DHCP server assigning an IP and can connect to it using SSH.

Now, when I connect this device to the MUDI router using the USB-C Port Replicator, it detects the connection but does not assign an IP. I checked the ARP table; it's empty. When I connect the MUDI router to a laptop using the same port replicator, the connection works, and the IP is assigned without any issues.

My question is, is there any protocol that defines (or at least explains) why MUDI cannot connect to that device? I was thinking about the USB-C port replicator and if I can run another test using the USB-A port. Is there a compatible USB-A to ethernet that can be used with MUDI for this check?

Update:

I checked using USB-A to ethernet connected to the USB-A port of MUDI. The embedded device is now connected and correctly getting IP from DHCP. I can confirm the issue was caused by the USB-C Port replicator.

If anyone is interested, I used a USB-A to ethernet with an asix-ax88179 chipset. I also had to install the following driver package. pkg install kmod-usb-net-asix-ax88179. Then MUDI will add a new device, eth1. You then have to add eth1 to bridge ports in the bridge device br-lan.
