I noticed even when I click “disconnect” the modem, and switch to repeater mode on Mudi, I still receive SMS even though I don’t click on “Auto Setup” to reactivate it.
It appears the modem is always connected to the network regardless you setup/enable data or not.
This should consume considerable battery unnecessarily. Is there a solution to completey switch off or hibernate the modem when we don’t need it for a while?
I'm very sorry to reply you so late. For the issue,we discuss about it.
The device include host and module. The host did not dial, but the module is always connected to the tower. If disabled module,it It will display unregistered cases and affects the user's judgment of how to use again.
If you want to disable module interaction with any tower, you can use AT command:
AT+CFUN=0
When cellular 'setup' agin,Use AT enable:
AT+CFUN=1
Well that's easy enough to add in the AT Command Shortcuts by editing the correct file. I have needed this a few times when I can only get on a Verizon tower and get capped at 250Mbs but can easily get on someone else's WiFi. It's just easier to disable the modem module completely and just use Repeater mode. I know it's easy to just type in the custom command but I prefer to add it to the shortcuts list so I don't have to remember the command.
