Trying to learn more about Routers, Networking, and Mudi V2, so I was curious if there's a way to utilize the Mude V2 as a WiFi adapter through USB.
I'm guessing the tethering is only meant to "broadcast" a WiFi signal from a device that already has WiFi. I was wondering if I could use the Mudi V2 with a laptop / computer that doesn't have a wireless card installed and use it as a WiFi adapter in order to connect to a router.
I kinda figured that might be the case, at least with the USB A cable. I just tested the USB A cable that came with it on a USB Hub to see if I could transfer some photos to my computer and it wasn't able to.
Thank you for commenting, I will definitely try this and report back, but I'm assuming this will work.
Do you know if the Mudi V2 would be able to monitor and inject packets in this configuration? I will do my own testing to figure it out, but was just curious if it has the ability do so.
On a side note, the Mudi V2 is the first GL.iNET product I've owned and I am very pleased with it, as well as the customer service aspect, and how well this forum is moderated.
Mudi supports the basic monitor of client, probably did not support advanced feature what you mentioned. As the Mudi performance probably not enough stronger to do those jobs, but also can try what you require.
@bruce, I was able to establish a "WiFi" connection as you suggested. I had misplaced the USB C cable to connect to the Mudi Incidental Adapter, luckily I found another USB C cable that worked.
I was testing the Mudi V2 to see if I could monitor traffic through Linux Terminal to do some pentesting at home, but I wasn't able to get it to work for this. I was actually doing the testing when you replied.
