MUDIV2 4.8.3 beta issues

The WebUI displays only a fixed countdown timer rather than providing real-time feedback on installation progress.
This is because the device system has already gone offline and is in the process of updating to the new version.

So this might be the reason for the misunderstanding.

Ok, that makes sense.

By the way, when I use the Android app to change VPN servers, the OLED screen does show "VPN Connecting". It's only at boot time that it doesn't. But you probably know that already.

Yes, in a small number of cases it may not display.

The R&D team has identified the cause and is working on a fix.

Hi. Just thought I’d let you know about something that’s happening with 4.8.3-beta2. It’s a minor issue, but slightly strange.

On booting up the device, and while the VPN is connecting (and while the OLED screen still shows “VPN Off” - but we’ve covered that) the OLED screen changes for a few seconds to “Turning off Tor”.

This happens with the toggle switch (on the left hand side) set to the Down position. I have the toggle switch configured to start Tor when in the Up position, so why does Tor need to be turned off when it shouldn’t even be starting in the first place?

Is this a bug?

This is because the system checks the status of the toggle switch after booting up, so that changes made during shutdown could be taken effect.

During this check, the current service status is displayed on the OLED screen.
However, since it is unknown whether the toggle switch remains in its original state or been switched during shutdown, the message “Turning TOR/XXX ON/OFF” is displayed uniformly.
