I'm using my Slate 7 (3650 or whatever it is) on a mobile tethered and for hotspot streaming. The thing is i'm not getting great upload speeds and the image is buffering. Does the slate 7 use the mobile phones hardware to upload or does it just access the sim card network and do the rest of the work itself...? IE the router tethered is only as good as the mobile phone technology?
When the Slate 7 is tethering to phone (or connect Slate 7 to the phone hotspot through repeater), Slate 7 sends Internet traffic to the phone, and phone does some work and sends them to SIM/ISP.
If you access speedtest.net website or APP on your phone, do a test and check what the download and upload speeds of your current SIM card are?
BTW, the Internet speed of Slate 7 may not be completely matched with the SIM speed of the phone, as the traffic passes through tethering or hotspot, and the actual speed obtained by Slate 7 may drop a little.
