Hi there my usb isn't working on gl-at300m16 mini router. So I can't install any plug ins is there anything I can do to fix it

How did you know the USB connector does not work?
Please try to connect a USB disk, and check the WebUI page or execute the command in the SSH: df -h

I have tried many usbs on this shadow router. That's what makes me think it's the connector

Please share issue syslog with us, after insert a USB disk.

The plugin cannot be installed has nothing to do with USB. The plugin is installed under /overlay in the internal flash.

I have a shadow router. It has a usb port why can I not download the updates 15 of them and have a choice of where to download them to i.e the usb memory stick. I don't have a computer so I am not able to download them if that's how Its supposed to be done. I know how to get on advanced settings and download from there. Is there something specific I should be downloading from there so I can have a voice to download to on setting because at the moment especially with the recent update I don't even have the capacity of memory to update half of the updates that are shown. I would think it's a security risk when the system doesn't have enough money to do it's updates for security. I've asked multiple times but nothing specific and easy. Is there something I can do with the updates to make my shadow router read the usb for updates. If so then thank you

Are the 15 updates you mentioned router plug-in updates?

If the router system is worked normally, there is no need to update the plug-in. Instead, the new plug-in has not been tested for compatibility with router firmware, which probably cause the router to be abnormally.

You just need to follow the update to the latest GL firmware, the system provides sufficient security protection.

In addition, the plug-in cannot be installed on the USB memory. Because the plug-in installed path of the OpenWRT is in the device build-in Flash. This avoids that if the USB memory is accidentally disconnected, the plug-in/system can still operate normally.
