My work computer shows a different IP than my VPN server

I was testing the router that I set up as my VPN Server using WireGuard. I have made sure that I have a Dynamic IP. I have downloaded the configuration file and injected that file into 3 devices.

  • Phone using WireGuard Client (software)
  • My personal computer using WireGuard Client (Software)
  • My work computer using WireGuard Client (Software)

[I'm not using the VPN Client Router]

My phone and personal computer show my IP being: 147.185.153.223 but my work computer shows a different one. I can see that my VPN Client is active and running on my work computer. and my DDNS test passes

I have tested my work computer with the VPN on and off and the same result. Are my connections going through a proxy the company created then my VPN? am I safe?

„Am I safe“ is a question nobody can answer because you need to specify against what threats you want to protect your work PC.

If it's not using the VPN, your company might know the location you are working from.

Hi!

I want to make sure my real IP is not getting leaked so it always appears as if I’m home even if I’m not. I’m currently testing at home, and the IP from my router is not the same one in my work computer only BUT I can see my work computer listed under clients in my router with the VPN Server and the VPN client is active and running on my work computer

If your company laptop does some voodoo for not using the installed VPN client, your only way is to carry some VPN router.

Trying to change the behaviour of your laptop is dangerous because it might break things.

You need to check your work computer.
Is the IP the same as your local IP? You can check your local IP in personal computer without vpn.

Maybe it already have another vpn installed.
