I have been chasing my tail trying to get my UK EE 5G SIM to work fully at 5G not 4G+ in my two Spitz X3000s. I now am seeing the problem on a Lebara/Vodafone UK SIM.
Many threads have bounced this about for well over a year on this and the OpenWRT forums as what is the cause/solution from duff SIMs, reflash firmware, use USB interface not PCIe etc. As yet I have seen no definitive statement from GL-inet/techs about it. Specifically is this a known bug in the Spitz X3000 or not?
If it isn't what is the solution and if it is what if the official workround and when will it be fixed?
I look forward to a positive reply.

Is the bug you're speaking of specifically regarding 5G or the combination of 5G and the carriers you have listed? My X3000 has no issues with 5G SA using T-Mobile in the US if that helps at all.

5G and these carriers
Hello,
May I know if this SIM card insert in the phone, and is it attached 5G network?
Please email to support@gl-inet.com, to contact with the cellular support to check this issue.
SIM card was activated and used in a phone and attached to 5G network.
But not when in the X3000.
Hi @TunnylaneTom , for this issue, could you check the 5G frequency bands used by the phone?
- For Android phone, you can find the cellular details, including the cell id, network type and frequency bands via some cellular analyzer app, e.g. Cellular-Z
- For iPhone, dial
*3001#12345#*
to the Field testing mode to check the cellular info
Then try the following ways to see if you can get a 5G connection.
- Bind router to the same frequency bands using Band Masking feature
- Go to Tower Locking page, lock your sim card to the same cell tower as your mobile phone
- Execute this AT command from the admin panel->INTERNET->Cellular->Modem Management page and try it again:
AT+QNWPREFCFG="mode_pref",NR5G
Thanks
