ya i disabled the incomplete folder.. but if u have 3 torrents i through in there when you reboot router they are no longer loaded... you rename the .added torrents to just torrent and it re loads it back into tranmissions que..
ya the 2 different enclosures i tried with the same hard drive..
the Sabrent when i reboot the router it wouldnt come back online the hard drive i had to pull the power and plug it back in for the router
the orico that seems to populate the hard drive each time ii reboot the router.. so it sees it each time.. so the orico enclosure works after reboot after reboot.. where the sabrent one doesnt work after a reboot.. only a pull the power out
and why is it mount to the /tmp/mountd folder.. why is it not mounting it to /mnt/sda1
i not using the /dev/sda1 i tried to mount to /mnt/sda1 but it keeps only mounting to the tmp folder so i figured it writting in the tmp folder is whats causing issues now
i power cycled the router. to test for a power failure or if i use it as a mobile travel etc... so i was testing it... so only way i recover the torrents is re naming the extension from added to just torrent then it re puts it back in
i testing rebooting to see how to fix the deleting the torrents from the que it saves it to the drive.. but when you were to unplug the router or use it as a travel router it deletes the torrents from the que... i ordered a kingston 512gb usb to see if its just a ssd/enclosure issue why it keeps removing the transmission.. and if i use it as a travel router id be unpluggin and plugging power where i go...
as for the firmware it is
4.7.0
type release3
as for the Blue EDIT button there is no enable r/w permissions
sorry with my disylexia i confuse people sometimes.. sounds good to me when i write it down but confuses others at times.. so sorry if i have so far
only allowed 1 pic at a time..
Since you are using a beta firmware, it could be the main reason why you are having so many issues. I suggest you only use stable firmware. Stick with Stable Firmware 4.7.0, it works far better with Transmission and could solve your external hdd/ssd issues.
Looks like new firmware changed the R/W option, but it is enabled. Other wise the files you download via torrents would not show up on the external hard drive, and transmission would give you errors.
how am i using beta version? when i bought the router and went to update it updated to that 4.7.0
so if the router installed the wrong firmware how you tell it to install the proper firmware?
so how do i changed to the stable firmware if i running beta version
and this is the version if transmission i installed
i also installed -en package i guess thats for english
My apologies, the naming scheme is confusing especially when release 3 is added but nothing is added in the notes on the website.
Everything else looks fine.
As far as issues with external drive. Could be just the router it self?? The hardware or the firmware or the drivers. I don't know.
Last time I asked around here, glinet doesn't provide support for transmission, so I had to figure things out on my own and do a lot of research.
Try openwrt forum. Good luck.
ah ok ill give it a try i appreciate the help so far.. nothing is perfect.. just confusing why it just wont work right almost just better to use a small computer but i found this router had this option so i figured why not... go figure bad luck lol
I stopped using transmission. Its outdated, doesnt have much support for it and the main issue I ran in to is that it does not see many seeds as it should. If a torrent has 2,000 seeds Transmission app would only see about 150 seeds. So I went back to using QBittorent on my laptop.
If you want to use a small computer, get a 2014 Mac Mini on eBay for $100 and run a torrent app like Qbittorent and you can remotely log in to Mac mini. Even though Mac mini is from 2014, you can still run latest MacOS using OpenCore Legacy Patcher. OpenCore Legacy Patcher
Tons of great instructions on YouTube. https://www.youtube.com/@Mr.Macintosh/videos
Im running newer macOS on 2014 MacBook Air and it works great. You can even get a 2014 MacBook Air for around $100, but you might have to replace the battery. Its a fantastic laptop and I use it every day.
ya i noticed the same on my unraid server transmission sees nothing nothing will start even if there is seeders its madding.. i did try deluge and ill have to look at qbiittorent i did like that this small thing had transmission do you use the router to download or just the mac mini... ill have to look that up
i didnt realize transmission out dated.. it constantly gets updated for unraid yet it doesnt work or if its partialy downloaed its halted for months i used it cuz it was simple
I torrent everything on my MacBook Air because qbitorrent gets constant updates and it just works. It also has built in search function that allows me to search for torrents across many websites, with out going to any website. But it requires installation of a Plugin/s to be installed, which are very straight forward.
ah ok ill check it out and can you import transmission .part files into qbtorrent so you dont have to re download almost finished ones... so it can just resume what transmission wouldnt finish
I think you can, If its same exact torrent name and torrent file. It will have to recheck the file before it continues to download.
It let me continue to download same movies when I stopped using Transmission App on the router. But it had to be same exact torrent. It's been a while so I honestly don't remember the details. I just had to make sure to use same exact folder on the hard drive.
Do you have a copy of the .torrent file? Double click on it and it will open in the qbittorent. Make sure qbittorent is pointed towards the folder where the file is saved and it will recheck it and continue to download it.
