Just loaded the latest 4.70 Beta 11 for the FLINT 1 router. I'm only getting 413 Plugins available...Must have changed the servers in the /etc/opkg/distfeeds.conf. Could someone please
provide the correct servers for the FLINT 1 using 4.70 Beta 11 firmware.
Currently my dist.conf has this configuration which is not pulling the plugins correctly...
Just got back from town...So plugins download still wasn't working...
Uploaded the .tar file again...
This time I could not get back into LUCI...RPC response failed...
Uploaded the 4.70 Beta firmware .img via Uboot...Same thing...Could not get back into LUCI (in order to do a restore)...
At that point I decided to upload the .img via uboot for firmware 4.68...Then did a restore via LUCI...Flint 1 back working....The 4.70 Beta 11 firmware for the FLINT 1 is hosed.
Now that I've got the little guy back working on 4.68 gonna put it's big brother Flint 2 back in operation.
I reloaded the 4.70 Beta 11 Firmware using the .img file from Uboot...This works correctly. I've found you cannot then restore a saved config as the old version was 21.x and this is now 23.05 so I had to configure everything from scratch (Otherwise you will get a RPC error in LUCI). HOWEVER...I still am only receiving a total of 413 packages in Software Plugins...Something is not configured correctly...I verified that my OPKG Configuration is the same as you have listed...Please check on your end that there is not a misconfiguration. I have changed nothing on my end. The OPKG Configuration is the one provided in the 4.70 Beta 11. Thanks.
P.S. The ARGON OPKG Theme is NOT working under this build (I uploaded it from saved files and it appeared to install normally but does not display).
I am familiar with OpenWRT Themes...Argon worked fine with GL.inet Firmware until just recently. This post is NOT about the themes...I just mentioned that it did not work...I use Argon in OpenWRT without issue (Both the ipk version and now the apk version in Snapshots...
This post was simply to state that their latest 4.70 Beta 11 for the FLINT 1 is currently not retrieving plugins listings.
Bruce,
There is no error indication. It appears to retrieve listings as normal. But yesterday it only had 413 listings...Today it retrieved 424 listings...I ran opkg update in Putty to see if I saw any errors in retrieval but no errors were displayed...Only an incomplete listing...
See attached jpegs.
I deleted my post above and will re-post it here (since I can't edit the original anymore), after finding out that the theme I linked to above was stolen. I'm linking to the original theme now, which is still maintained and isn't some thief's repo.
The Argon theme is third-party and does not work with upstream OpenWrt either. It's not GL-iNet's fault. Argon is only compatible with some very specific versions of OpenWrt.
I would recommend that you only use official themes (the ones in the upstream openwrt repo (see list), whose package names start with "luci-theme-"). Because most third-party themes are only for Chinese forks of OpenWrt, or for severely outdated versions of OpenWrt. This is because themes require constant maintenance. Only the official themes receive that maintenance. Unfortunately GL-iNet doesn't mirror the official theme packages so you can't easily install them.
If you want a more modern, third-party theme, there's this one which is based on the official Bootstrap theme and works with most versions of OpenWrt (because it's just some CSS tweaks and some very small JavaScript additions):
(To install it, go to releases, download both ipk files (the theme and the config plugin), and then use LuCi's software page to upload and install the packages.)
You can use the "System: Alpha Config" page to edit the theme, such as disabling the rightmost sidebar, uploading your own backgrounds, etc. I am not a fan of the anime background, so I use this instead, which fits perfectly:
Here's what my GUI looks like with that theme and the custom background:
