i vent back to 4.5.6… had issue with having more than one AP on the same radio… it froze even more…

would love an only openwrt version with the newest openwrt

also is there a reason they vent back to OpenWrt 21.02 and kernel 5.4??

OpenWrt base is not the one being backported, but OpenWrt consists of multiple packages also core packages many of them already existing in older versions of OpenWrt toolchains directly from OpenWrt (these are not always platform depended only kmods often are), and some need porting.

its alot easier to accomplish a few patches and making a few packages availible than debugging the wireless aspect in the upstream OpenWrt.

the reason of the lack of kernel packages or opkg in general is just because they either need more space, or are still questioning wether they want to do that path, or that the fix for upstream OpenWrt is faster.

I’m looking to upstream OpenWrt aswell (further than 4.5.6), but straight from OpenWrt, and the issue is everytime you think they fixed something the driver works, but then it doesn’t its like the devils advocate here.

^ and I think that is why they are still kinda holding back on that, they fix the minimum for normal functionality what you expect and maybe consider to also compile full toolchain if it wasn’t fully there yet, that is my guess, I won’t worry to much of this.
