I am attempting to create a local (not accessible if not connected to the local network) storage. When my computer is connected via cable to the cable modem and the Gl-A1300 is connected to the wifi transmitter of the same network I can see my Drive (which is connected via USB) but when my computer is on the network via Wi-Fi connection, which is the same that the GL-A1300 is connected to I get that the path is not available? The tutorials seem to indicate I need to turn SAMBA WAN but then it indicates that I need to have a static IP address and that is where I get lost? Also am I compromising security by doing this? I am not looking for access via Internet I only am looking for access when connected to the cable modem or Wi-Fi router that is also connected to the Cable modem?
This indicated you don't connect to the Wi-Fi of the Slate Plus, but to some other Wi-Fi where the Slate is connected as well? In that case it does not work because for the Slate this Wi-Fi will be WAN instead of LAN.
