Hello everyone, I'm on 4.7 beta, and so far so good I love it because it solved my multiwan issues. Now I have noted this new bug:
In previous firmwares, whenever a new client (not yet added to the allow list) attempted to connect to the router, it would be visible in the client list where with an option to grant access. I have noted that in 4.7 beta the new clients requesting access are not detected on both the desktop webui and app. In order, to add the new device, one has to add its mac address to the allow list first or disable the allow list altogether. After connecting the new device now appears in the client list. Is there a workaround to make the detection of new devices work again? Thanks in advance.
May I know what router model is?
Some models are handled directly from the wireless driver level and do not enter the Clients list, while some models are handled from the network level and the Client is displayed in the list, and button 'Access' is off.
Sorry, it's the Flint 2. I think it handles on network level then because in 4.5 and 4.6 firmwares it showed the clients with access is off button.
Can be reproduced. This may be due to R&D updating the wireless driver. Will ask R&D to check.
Okay, I appreciate the support: )
Hi what is R&D?
Research & Development
So the product owners, the advisors and the devs.
I understand, thanks. I hope detection of unknown devices comes back. Tedious to manually key in mac ids and risky to disable allow list
Similar not to hijack this thread.
Originally my Flint 2 allowed all clients access. Today I was playing with clients access control list and managed to mess up the entire deal and can't seem to safely remove it.
I think I was on the admin panel trying to find out what was wrong with the computer I booted that wasn't getting internet. Discovered eventually that I had manual ip address in computer.
So the question is how can I make all authenticated wifi clients able to access in the allowlist again? It started with a click in the client access control allowlist, blocklist.
Doubt there is a trail of changes is there to undo?
Considered removing acl from installed and returning it but that didn't sound best.
