New Devices GL-AP1300 and GL-B2200

Surprised no one else has asked about these yet.

I have some questions

  1. Will the AP1300 support PoE out of the box? If not, why not? likely ceiling mounted AP it seems logical to include.

  2. Will the B2200 support PoE out of the box? If not, why not?

Very excited to see these products coming soon. Excited for USB-C adoption.

I am still looking for USB-C on a smaller travel device with external antenna. USB-C PD - USB 3 A port. gigabit lan + wan. (my dreams Gl-inet!)

Why do you need Poe?

POE for a Ceiling Mount Access Point (GL-AP1300) makes sense…

For GL-B2200, as a desktop/tabletop device, less so.

as an access point, mounted on the wall, desktop, or ceiling, poe makes sense. IMHO. one less cable is always better than 2. In a situation where Ethernet can’t supply data + power it makes sense to have the USB-C power for an AP to achieve mesh.

Yes. AP1300 is PoE out of the box.

No. It is desktop mesh router.

Consider MV1000 with a wifi dongle.
