Like this router post, I'd love a subscription service for new firmware notifications. An RSS feed would be great (I can provide some PHP code that scans for files in a directory and generates an XML file), email subscriptions may be more modern and would also work for me. The web framework at GL.iNet download center or https://fw.gl-inet.com/kvm/rm1/release/ don't on the surface play nicely with page scraping.
My ultimate goal is to get a Slack notification on a new firmware version, for other devices I use a mix of RSS feeds, email parsing to a dedicated address, and page scraping to send that notification.
It appears that there's only one list, is there any chance you could split things up a bit more? New Product Announcements and marketing should preferably be different from specific product firmware notifications (it would be great for the latter to have something easily parseable like a direct link to the firmware [without Mailchimp tracking link munging] or some metadata tag).
Thanks for the suggestion.
We are planning on adding a “firmware update only” email subscription on the Firmware Download Center and will do specific targeting on which product the unique contact subscribed to.
