New firmware version 4.8 being released for beta testing

Create your own self-signed certificates by following the directions in here (Option C) up to Step 6.

Copy (use scp) the new key and certificate files you just created to the router. Replace the following files but you need to keep the original file names:
/etc/uhttpd.key
/etc/uhttpd.crt
/etc/nginx/nginx.key
/etc/nginx/nginx.cer

Has anybody tried ZeroTier? I can't get it working. Joining the ZeroTier network is successful. If I ssh to my MT3000 router, I'm able to ping other nodes' IP (in the same ZeroTier network). However, I can't ping any of them from my laptop (connected to the router through LAN). All my VPN tunnels are disabled, and only Non-VPN tunnel is enabled.

2 different VPN Companys at the Same time works great (Flint2)

VPN 1 Client based
VPN 2 Client based
Rest of the devices over isp

Adguard Home and Port forwarding works too

Thank you

Yes, the new vpn feature shares the same key.

The A1300 does not release the v4.8 firmware.
Please click here to download the A1300 firmware, and let the A1300 enter uboot to flash the A1300 firmware.

Thank you, though my research i came across your unbrick video, i learnt that you must pull the plug before pressing the reset.

And the switch sould be back. (what does the switch do?).

So my GL-A1300 has now been flashing all night, now iI will try the software reinstall with Uboot. Its a bit scary for me messing with my IP address, i have also ordered a new one in the meantime, but will not acept any update on the new one,

Thank you for your feedback. We have reproduced the issue and are currently working on a fix.

hi,
I didn't reproduce this problem. Could you tell me more details about your operation and PM me the log?

Just a suggestion: since proper VLAN management isn't possible, could you allow us to create our own IP groups and link them to the appropriate VPN instances? Selecting devices one by one is a lot of work, especially when managing 50 clients.

Ok, I have received your request. You need the grouping function of the client, and then the VPN can be diverted according to the grouping of the client.

May I also ask your use environment, whether it is home or business, and what are the main types of 50 devices?

I'm using the Flint 2 for business purposes and plan to onboard more clients, so the IP grouping feature will be extremely helpful., Laptops, Phones, Firesticks, IoT devices and Cameras.

No longer have GoodClloud remote GUI access to Flint 2 after upgrade to 4.8.

I dropped 4.8.0 on my GL-X3000 this morning, and other than having to find familiar items in new places, it seems to work pretty well.
Some observations (T-MO in the US):

  • The landing page UI redesign is a lot cleaner, although I have to relearn it again
  • I like that the cell connection has the option to use IPv4 only, IPv6 only, or both, although it's a little hard to find at first. My connection allows for both.
  • My custom cell configuration (I need a specific APN) was lost in the upgrade, even though I chose "keep settings"
  • My custom uhttpd (LuCI) listening setup (used uci in SSH to add IPv6 listeners) was also lost in the upgrade
  • The "Internet is not reachable using IPv6" warning is very useful (likely one for IPv4, as well), but may cause concern among users who don't know that IPv6 connectivity can take longer to establish than IPv4 on some carriers
  • Network -> LAN produces an "Unknown Error" popup error and shows an empty DHCP range. If I try to populate the range, the error is produced, and the range is empty again. Oddly, the br-lan DHCP service is functioning just fine.
  • (added) the router IP address in DHCP setting was entered as 192.168.8.1/24. When I changed it to 192.168.8.1 and chose a /24 subnet in the netmask field, the default DHCP range appeared and the errors stopped.
  • Network -> Guest Network also produces an error, but correctly indicates that the guest network is disabled
  • (added) after correcting the IP address in the LAN page, the Guest network error popups stopped.
  • The log has repeated "gl_ble_daemon is in a crash loop 6 crashes, 2 seconds since last crash" entries, preceded by several instances of "gl_ble_daemon: (ble_manage.c52) gl_ble_init failed: 1" I can provide a zip of the logs if it'll help.
  • My GoodCloud configuration (and commnunication) is working jes' fine, jes' fine.
  • (added) Wireless settings are completely blank. Literally nothing there. No errors, just nothing on the page.
  • (added) ZeroTier configuration is accepted and properly applied, but this page repeatedly pops up the "Unknown Error Occurred"
  • (added) I had a bad IP assignment in ZeroTier. Once I fixed that, both the ZeroTier and Wireless settings issues were resolved

Messing with your IP address should be way less scary than flashing firmware. The four listed models don't include any Slate device (Plus, AX, or 7) so idk how you got where you did.

Now that you know how to uboot flash, you can basically always unbrick a GL router (unless you start reflashing the uboot itself on a different URL). Using uboot to flash should be a ~5 minute process, you don't need to let it sit waiting. I used it with my B1300 yesterday (not related to this beta)

Hello! Why is there still no native support for the AmneziaVPN protocol? :exploding_head: I read the forum and saw many requests from people over the past few years, but you ignore them and tell them to install openWRT :face_with_raised_eyebrow: This should be a basic feature in the modern world.

What about BRUME2 ? Not supported with this version?

Thank you, I have managed it now, not as bad as i thought.

When I did get into the GL-A1300 control panel , it did again ask for an update. I declined this time.

hi,
Just to clarify, your IPv6 connection is working but has high latency—are you bothered by the 'Internet is not reachable using IPv6' prompt?
