New GL-MT6000 ethernet clients cannot ping wifi clients

I've recently bought the GL-MT6000 and have set it up as a router.
I have a number of Ethernet hosts and some WiFi hosts.
I have noticed that the WiFi hosts can ping Ethernet hosts no problems at all, however this doesn't work the other way around. I've not enabled AP isolation or anything else such as VPN, Adblock. I couldn't locate any setting to block ICMP anywhere.

I am able to access SMB shares in both directions.

I am curious if this behavior is normal?

Thanks

I d like to clarify whether this Ethernet refers to WAN or LAN?

Hi Bruce, these are all LAN clients on the same 192.168.8.x network as the WiFi clients.

Many thanks

Does it mean that wired devices cannot ping wireless devices?

It is probably not necessarily the router issue.
Some wireless devices need to be turn on the screen to allow reply to ping packets.

@FloydtheDroid

It could also be the on-client firewalls defaulting to DROP.

If everything works then ping is pointless. As above, most OS's block ping by default.
I guess folks like to use ping in some situations.

Since some pings work then I'd think maybe not router.
