New Hilton hotels with glinet routers no longer work?

There's been other threads in the past (with varying workaround success) but I want to resurface this since it seems Hilton has really updated their wifi such that travel routers no longer connect.

Hilton Waldorf Costa Rica, Slate 7 won't connect at all to Hilton wifi (my VPN is off, I've tried mac cloning to my phone where Hilton wifi works, I even called Hilton IT support to allowlist my router mac address and even though the agent wanted to try the system gave him a “device not supported” error when adding the mac address to the allowlist).

This Waldorf is a new Hilton property (only 6 months old), so it has the latest Hilton wifi system, which means as other properties upgrade their network (often a slow several year process), Hilton hotels will be basically unusable with glinet routers unless they have some aggressive masking built in.

Hmm interesting, I wonder was the random bssid feature disabled for the repeater mode when cloning the mac address ?

I can think this could clash somehow with mac cloning.

The other tricks I know is indeed mac cloning, and lowering ttl, if that also doesn't work then I'm out of ideas, possible they may check some device data from the captive portal if they have one, javascript from the client can expose quite alot of fingerprints.
