New HP Chromebook cannot connect to AR-750S-ext's 5G wifi

Hi,

I recently got a new HP Chromebook (14a-na0060nr) but it cannot connect to AR-750S-ext’s 5G wifi network. It can connect to 2.4G wifi network. All other android devices (phone and tablet) can connect to both 2.4G and 5G networks without any problem. Can someone help me figure out what causes the issue and how to fix it?

Note that the chromebook can make a connection to home wifi AP (TP-Link AX11000 MU-MIMO Tri-Band Gaming Router) well for both 2.4G and 5G.

Channel: 161 (got through the Channel Optimization button)

The firmware version is 3.201.

If the channel is 36 or 40, can you chromebook detect?

The log is from the router, right? Seems nothing special.

I tried most of the available channels but didn’t have any luck. The logs were from my router. As it shows, the router offered an IP address but the Chromebook, somehow, did not accept it.

BTW, eventually, I decided to return the Chromebook.

On Chromebooks - one thing that is useful is to grab the output of the network diagnostics from crosh…

Two years ago, we have a case that Chromebook does not connect to MT300N-V2, but can connect to other routers. We did in-depth debug and fixed a bug in the router. So chromebook can connect to MT300N-V2.

But this problem is totally not related to what you met.

Maybe Chromebook’s wifi driver is just buggy.
