I'd like to implement a cron task to perform a nightly reconnect of my mobile broadband connection on my GL-X3000 Spitz (latest firmware). A complete router reboot isn't preferred as some of my wireless devices have trouble reconnecting to wifi (bah!).
While exploring options for this, I noticed that a modem reboot using a "AT+CFUN=1,1" performs a reboot of the modem but the cellular status gets stuck with a loading image and never seems to come back up. I believe this was working prior firmware, so this feels like a bug and my guess is that this is somehow related to the watchdog.
Does anyone have a working method (bash commands/ssh/cron) that could be used to force a disconnect and reconnect of the modem?
Hi, does the router only have cellular network only? Is sim card PIN code enabled?
In general, the modem can be restarted with the AT+CFUN command
If router only has cellular internet, you can also restart network through the following command and add command to the cron task to try. /etc/init.d/network restart
Thanks Cathy. I was hoping to avoid the network restart as that would kick devices off of wifi. The CFUN option isn't working, and it might be something that Gl-inet needs to investigate. I waited approximately 4-5 minutes for the modem to come back and it never seems to do so with the latest firmware.
Hello, can we have a remote check through Goodcloud to investigate the cfun problem? It might be related to the cellular config. You can refer to the link below to share device through Goodcloud.
