No internal clock on Slate AX?

While looking in the logs of a Slate AX, I noticed that at boot time, the messages are being logged with timestamp of the last time the router was running (ie when it was last stopped), and then it gets updated to the actual time.

The snapshot of messages below are sequential within seconds :stuck_out_tongue: Thu Mar 28 07:15:33 2024 daemon.notice netifd: Interface ‘wgclient’ is now down
Thu Mar 28 07:15:33 2024 daemon.notice netifd: Interface ‘wgclient’ is setting up now
Thu Mar 28 07:15:33 2024 user.notice firewall: Reloading firewall due to ifdown of wgclient ()
Thu Mar 28 08:27:19 2024 daemon.notice netifd: Network device ‘wgclient’ link is up
Thu Mar 28 08:27:19 2024 daemon.notice netifd: Interface ‘wgclient’ is now up

The time stamp of log messages is being updated when the interface comes up (ie when time servers are potentially accessible).

Is my unit defective, or is it normal ? The router does not have an internal clock ?

Thanks…

It is normal. The router does not have a clock itself. It needs to sync via Internet.
