Opal Slow in Repeater Mode

I have just recently purchased and setup an Opal GL-SFT1200) travel router and its download and upload speeds seems very slow versus connecting directly to my Wi-Fi

Using my IPhone 15 Pro within 3 feet of my Bell Canada Router I am getting download speeds of around 80 Mbps and 60 Mbps upload when connected to the Opal Router while when connected directly to the Bell Wi-Fi I am getting 1.0 Gbps and 940 Mbps respectively.

Any help would be appreciated

Thanks for the quick response. I don’t believe so but I am confused what you mean by internal wireless networks?

Within 3 Feet, is the Opal wired into the Bell Canada router when you carry out this test?
Are you testing on 2.4GHz or 5GHz?
What bandwidth have you set?

Hi,

Thanks for your response. No it’s connected over Wi-Fi I just bought close to the Bell Router to remove any possible physical issues.

Speeds are very similar whether it’s 2.4 or 5GHz.

As I’m operating in Repeater mode I can’t change the Bandwidth which is set to 20MHz on 5GHz, which I assume by default. I can modify 2.4GHz which is currently set 20/40 MHz.

Thank you again for your response

3 feet is normally OK. Closer gives major physical issues (receiver saturation).

And Opal can be slow in repeater, results depend on firmware version used
