Opal usb disk share and TOR memory usage

Good day to everyone.

I have just got an opal.
I tried Tor , but it could not connect. The bad point is that is used some memory for it and i don't know how to delete useless data to free up memory.

In another test I wanted to share an USB disk using it (just like I did with the Beryl) but after plugging the drive i dont see any option to use it, which is sort of disappointing.

I read from another user that some packages are to be installed. I tried but it failed, because some packages are not available anymore.

Any good hint to clear the unused files from tor and how to enable usb disk share?

thank you.
Eli.

Hello,

Tor should not generate any unused files If it cannot connect, but if it did create some caches, it can be cleared through reset firmware.

Is USB available on your computer?
After the USB is plugged into the router, export the syslog to check whether the USB is recognized and mounted.

Hello , Bruce.

I started Tor, and after a while (20 minutes or so) it was stuck to 50%, so i stopped it.
Checking the overview i noticed the blue bar ("apps used" was some 30Mb compared to its status before the test which was almost nothing).

I still can't connect to tor ( it always gets stuck between 50 and 80% but never completes).
I was just curious and i can live without it, just wanted to clear the space... possibly without a factory reset...

Concerning USB,
The Beryl clearly shows me a tab to share an USB driver over the network, and I tought the Opal can do this as well as Samba is supported. (Network Storage - GL.iNet Router Docs 4 )

Ii will check what you said , I think the USB is mounted in linux (i connected to ssh and I think i seen it as dev\sd-something).

thank you, i'll check it asap

Eli.

Edit:
Yes, the USB drive seems to be recognized and mounted.
Issuing df -h i get

Filesystem Size Used Available Use% Mounted on
/dev/root 14.3M 14.3M 0 100% /rom
tmpfs 58.0M 468.0K 57.5M 1% /tmp
/dev/ubi0_1 91.1M 31.1M 55.3M 36% /overlay
overlayfs:/overlay 91.1M 31.1M 55.3M 36% /
tmpfs 512.0K 0 512.0K 0% /dev
/dev/sda 7.6G 396.5M 7.2G 5% /mnt/sda

where the 7.6gb is my usb stick .

Did you upgrade to the latest firmware for Opal v4.7.2 beta version?

Network Storage is only supported in this latest version.

Hello, Bruce.
Thank you for your feedback.

I did not upgrade to a beta firmware.
I'm always pretty unlucky with betas (whichever the manufacturer is)
At the moment, I'm sticking to the official release (current release is 4.3.25).

I can live without the feature for a while, it's a "nice to have" thing, though.
When do you expect to release this officially?

Thank you, and happy easter.
Eli.

I see. I'll be waiting.
Concerning the 30mb that trying to start TOR leaves in the memory (same size on the Beryl as well) is there any way to free it without resetting the firmware? (SSH is ok, if there is a folder to delete)

thanks.
Eli.

Does "memory" mean the RAM or Flash?

If it is RAM, the system will automatically release memory. As long as the device is still running normally, don’t pay too much attention to these.

And the performance of SFT1200 is not very strong, so please don’t put too much pressure on it.

It's flash.
I know that the device is a baseline one. Just wanted to make the most out of it, as it's in the home
