OpenVPN not using correct DNS w/ Adguard on Flint 2

Hello, I have a Flint 2 and I am trying to set up an OpenVPN connection so that I can access my home network while I am outside. I have Adguard home enabled, and I have DNS servers listed out in the "Upstream DNS servers" section of the Adguard settings.

When I turn the Flint 2's OpenVPN server on and connect to it on my Android phone with the OpenVPN Connect app (on data), it's successful with the correct ip address. However, when I run a test on dnsleaktest.com, it says I use my mobile carrier's ISP. How might I fix this? I had a similar issue with WireGuard, but was able to resolve that by removing the default 64 something ip in the config, I thought maybe this would be similar but I can't find anything like that.

I think it says in AdGuard itself that there is a risk that it will turn off the VPN DNS in order for it to work.

Just to clarify, I also made sure my phone's "Private DNS" setting is set to off. When I use WireGuard, it seems to correctly use the DNS set in Adguard. When I use OpenVPN, it seems to use the phone's DNS (ISP is mobile carrier on dnsleaktest)

Your wireguard profile on your mobile device has DNS set to your routers gateway IP correct?

I think so, the IP is 10 something and WireGuard uses the correct DNS server. OpenVPN does not for some reason

Yeah I meant OpenVPN not wireguard. Very odd one works but the other doesn't.

Use WireGuard instead, works perfect for me. I was the biggest OpenVPN fan but I gave up… slower.
