Openvpn (PrivateVpn) working on MT300N-V2 but not on new MT1300 (Beryl)

Hi,

I’ve been using my Mango successfully for 3 months but decided to upgrade to Beryl (MT1300).
PrivateVpn is my provided and i using the same .ovpn file on both routers (sequentially not at the same time).

The Mango connects reliably and the connection is stable.
The Beryl connect intermittently but will then collapse.

The Openvpn log shows these errors on the Beryl that I’m not getting on Mango:
2021-01-09 21:19:11 /sbin/ip route add 0.0.0.0/1 via 10.35.15.1
RTNETLINK answers: File exists
2021-01-09 21:19:11 ERROR: Linux route add command failed: external program exited with error status: 2
2021-01-09 21:19:11 /sbin/ip route add 128.0.0.0/1 via 10.35.15.1
RTNETLINK answers: File exists
2021-01-09 21:19:11 ERROR: Linux route add command failed: external program exited with error status: 2

Any guidance in fixing this would be greatly appreciated !

Hi,
The log shows that adding global route is failed because the route is already existed, could you ssh to the router and show me the route table when connecting vpn?

Hi,

I did a factory reset on Sunday and re-configured the PrivateVPN connection using Openvpn.
The error seems to be (mostly) gone. Let me observe behaviour and if i get the error again, i’ll post the output of the route command.
