Not all software modules are open source.

Ohh that’s a bummer, so we basically seen here it’s another “Asus-wrt” not being entirely open source

You have the option to use the totally open source firmware on GL.iNet devices, just download from OpenWrt website.

I tried this image on my brume and it seemed to work fine aside from me being unable to disable ipv6 in its entirety so I reflashed the stock firmware.

When you say flash it via the original firmware you mean going into updates>loca upgrade in the menu? Can it be done over wifi or only with the RJ45?

It can be done via wifi. But don’t reserve your settings.
