OP25.12 has gone final.
Are you able to start working on integrating this into your builds please? I was hoping to use 24.10.5 but this hasn’t been released yet for Flint 2.

azleatherneck. When I bought the Flint 2, I didn’t expect them to roll back to a 2021 build where important apps like BanIP don’t support that version anymore. I’ve been waiting over a year for a stable build to be released that is above the initial OP version when it was released.
I’ve been seriously tempted to go vanilla, but the control of the parental control and android app keep me going along.
It’s an expectation that the hardware will be supported and updated for a few years….

I agree. At the moment, the MT6000 is one of the most powerful router in the GL.iNet lineup, and I doubt it will reach end-of-life anytime soon.

Just to clarify, there are no plans to discontinue the Flint 2 anytime soon.
It may have simply been a misunderstanding or misinterpretation somewhere, so there’s no need to worry.

I would hope they wouldn’t base another build off an unstable version, I'm currently running 25.12 on my flint 2 and it’s experiencing some system errors as well as increased latency and jitter. Ipv6 works better than any version before however.

Nope, I’m saying a second firmware based on open source for a product that is 2 cycles behind isn’t a priority. I’m surprised that hey have supported it this long lol
Why not when the industry is moving towards 5-7 years of updates for other devices?

Hi everyone, I think we can stop discussing the Flint 2 EOL topic and move on to something more interesting. For example, those of you using vanilla OpenWrt could share what’s new in version 25.12 and any improvements in the overall experience.
For instance, I noticed that DNS and DHCP are now configured in separate sections in LuCI, and there’s also the new APK package manager—how has your experience with it been?

I am curious with other user's results as well with the new firmware as I am using the vanilla 24.10.5 currently with no major issues. But I am ready to upgrade and wanting to unless someone notes a significant flaw or anything after updating.
So far good experience.
But when I tested from master directly especially from a week ago it is less stable for me.
There seem to be changes to the DUID in the global settings, ironically I had very glitchy internet like the tx isn't working well, I went back to a build from 3 march and the issue is gone (I'm still in the determine phase what the real issue is but my pointers are on DUID for now).
Honestly I would be carefully with the next release they made everywhere changes which is harder to bisect the issue, in all my tests speedtest worked fine yet there was huge delay on every site I visit with tcp, and I readed some issues that WED is failing but I have this disabled.

Sqm works on all 4 cores of flint 2 im really happy 
i built my own custom version of 25.12.2 only added miniupnpd-nft luci app upnp banip and qosmate as well as irq balance i also enabled packet steering. Thay also added the ability for multipath tcp built in with just a toggle, useful for vpn or multi wan.
